New Stuff

Electric Literature selected a story from my first collection, “Where We Must Be,” for Recommended Reading.

All four installments “How Writers Read” are now up at The Believer. Thanks to Elissa Gabbert for asking me to participate!

I contributed a Year in Reading entry for The Millions, thoughts on notable story collections and novels at Electric Literature, and sang the praises of Miriam Toews’ ALL MY PUNY SORROWS for FSG Originals.

ISLE is on Bustle’s list of 10 Books to Binge-Read After Christmas. Thanks, Bustle!

I wrote a little bit about writing spaces for Bayou Magazine.

FIND ME makes “most anticipated for 2015” lists at Huffington Post, Chicago Tribune, Time Out New York, BBC, Bustle, & more!

FIND gets a starred review from Library Journal. Hurray!

On FIND ME, Kirkus says “Van den Berg’s writing is curiously beautiful, and her portrayals can also be disarmingly sensitive, as if we might break this girl just by reading about her.”

And over at Book Riot, Rebecca Schinsky has some kind words for FIND ME: “This is one of my favorite novels of 2015, and we’re not even IN 2015 yet…The language is beautiful, spare, and carefully crafted, and the characters are fully realized and unforgettable.”
